Geiger - Our High Standards Make a Difference in Your Project

Geiger Excavating is committed to providing a safe work environment. We administer monthly training and inspection programs that cover all aspects of job performance in the field.

A comprehensive Safety Manual governs the performance of earthmoving crews and pipe installation crews. New employees study the manual during a thorough orientation process specific to their occupation.

We provide ongoing safety training and education to all employees. Our Foremen conduct weekly “Toolbox Talks” to keep their crews mindful of safety practices in general and hazards specific to their current work sites.

Through constant observation, Foremen are fully aware of employee performance, and immediately correct practices if an individual exhibits a lack of diligence. Operators and laborers are required to wear appropriate Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) when situations dictate. Emergency Response Plans are in effect for all hazards to which workers may be exposed.

To further assess hazards and performance, safety inspections are performed on project to monitor work in progress and consult with Foremen.

Like Geiger, Caterpiller is committed to safety! A new website, Safety.Cat.Com, launched by Caterpiller, Inc., is a great resource for information and materials intended to keep workers and service techs safe on the job.
